Prof. Amos Oyesoji Aremu is a Professor of Counselling, Criminal Justice and Open Distance Education from the Faculty of Education, University of Ibadan. He holds joint appointments in the Department of Counseling and Human Development Studies and Institute of Peace and Strategic Studies. He also, teaches in the Faculty of Law of the University. Professor Aremu who has published extensively in local and international non-predatory journals has over 150 papers (including six books and twenty-eight chapters in books) to his credit. His research works are largely interventionistic given his training as a Counselling Psychologist. Professor Aremu has consistently contributed and served the University over the years in the following capacities:

Professor Aremu who was formerly the national coordinator, Committee of Directors of Distance Learning Centres/Institutes in dual mode universities in Nigeria is currently the first Vice President, Open Distance and eLearning Association of Nigeria. An association he confounded in May, 2020. He is also an Open, Distance and eLearning Consultant to Osun State University, Osogbo and Afe Babalola University, Ado-Ekiti.

Professor Oyesoji Aremu is a Justice of the Peace, Oyo State,

Commonwealth Fellow and Visiting Scholar, Institute of Criminal Justice Studies, University of Portsmouth, United Kingdom,

Fellow, Africa Institute of South Africa,

Fellow, Society for Peace Studies and Practice,

Fellow, Counselling Association of Nigeria; and

Member, Nigerian Academy of Education.

He is also a member of many learned societies and journals. He has successfully supervised to completion 32 Ph.D and over 90 Masters Degrees students.
